There may be confusion here as there is a button on the system labelled eco mode, but this is only on cars equipped with stop/start. The one which stops the engine mid install is the economy mode which switches off equipment to protect the battery. If economy mode kicks in you can ruin your system.
It's the manufacturer's way of keeping their emissions figures "accurate". Mine is disabled permanently, but this is due to it having an issue and stalling on the restart. After a couple of stalled restarts the ECO stays off permanently until I turn it back on. Even after turning engine on and off and few times.
Once it's off it stays off until you switch it on again, irrespective of the number of times the engine is restarted. The system in the C4P wouldn't be quite as bad if you didn't have to scroll through the screen every time you want/need to deactivate it. A simple switch (such as BMW provide) would be better.

We have an automatic C4 Picasso (2013) and had no issues before. It seems to be when she does short journys and the engine is cold - when she pulls up to traffic lights, the ECO stop/start kicks in, but then when she goes to set off again, the engine stalls and cuts out - saying put foot on brake and start the engine.
. A general search on ESP warning light gives. The most common reason the ESP light illuminates is because of a faulty ABS sensor or ABS ring. It can also be caused by issues like a bad throttle body, brake pedal switch, or steering sensor. If it's blinking while driving on a slippery surface, it's working correctly. Quote.

Well my C4 has managed to lose the economy mode function. I know it was there for the first 18 months of its life then poofff. Result, 2 flat batteries through leaving the radio switched on. It's booked to see the Citroen doctor next week, and yes they said it was an impossibility until it was demonstrated to them.
thanks for the replies, ive charged the battery up now showing 12.6 volts and still same no ignition no mirrors unfolding just jumping straight into economy mode active. it was working perfectly day before this happened no signs of any problems and never had a problem before with the battery starting or any battery faults showing.
It doesn't make any sense. Eco mode only shuts off uneccisary electrical consumers, sidelights may be neccisary (depending on where your parked), if you notice the hazzard lights still flash but the telltale lights & noise stop inside because they are not needed.
